Product Description

Since 1928, MUZA has been a family-owned Wisconsin manufacturer, built on craftsmanship, ingenuity, and a willingness to continually evolve. For nearly a century, generations of skilled craftspeople have shaped and formed metal for the commercial construction industry. Today, that same foundation is driving MUZA to develop new products that expand what architects and owners can accomplish with architectural metal.

One of the most exciting examples began not with a panel, but with a pattern.

Architects have long turned to natural wood to bring warmth, character, and a sense of connection to a building. Its grain, movement, color variation, and organic character can transform an exterior in a way few other materials can.

Natural wood, however, comes with a universal challenge, particularly when exposed to the elements. MUZA saw an opportunity to create something different: capture the character of natural wood while gaining the versatility and performance of architectural metal.

Working in collaboration with a true artist, MUZA developed its own distinctive proprietary woodgrain pattern, created exclusively for MUZA. Rather than selecting a standard woodgrain finish already available in the marketplace, we set out to create patterns with their own identity, variation, movement, and natural character.

Developing the woodgrain was only the beginning.

What makes the innovation unique is the realism and versatility of the pattern itself.

MUZA’s woodgrain can be applied to multiple materials such as aluminum, steel, and composite material, allowing a consistent wood appearance to move across different architectural materials and applications. Instead of developing a woodgrain for a single system, we developed the woodgrain first and let the possibilities of what we could create from it drive the innovation.

That exploration led to the development of the MUZA Barrel Collection.

At our Wisconsin manufacturing facilities in Oshkosh and Windsor, MUZA takes these proprietary woodgrain materials and transforms them into finished architectural wall panel systems. The woodgrain can be incorporated into our Majestic Series single-skin profiles, our ACM panel systems, and other custom profiles and architectural applications.

This allows the same distinctive woodgrain to take on very different forms throughout a building.

Rather than allowing the physical characteristics of natural wood – or the limitations of a single panel system – dictate how and where a wood appearance can be used, MUZA gives architects a broader palette. It can become a large-format composite panel on a façade, transition into a dimensional single-skin profile, continue beneath a soffit, define an entrance, create an accent, or be combined with solid-color architectural metal. Different materials, profiles, and applications can work together while maintaining a consistent woodgrain design.

The pattern remains the connection. The possibilities around it continue to change.

That is the idea behind Muza’s Barrel Collection – Woodgrain Without Limitations.

For MUZA, the Barrel Collection also represents something larger.

A family-owned Wisconsin company that began working with sheet metal in 1928 is still finding new ways to shape it nearly a century later. Our tools and technology have evolved, our capabilities have expanded, and the buildings we work on have changed, but the foundation remains the same: Wisconsin craftsmanship, innovation, and people who take pride in making something exceptional.

Today, a MUZA woodgrain can begin as an original artistic pattern, be applied across multiple architectural materials, be manufactured into completely different panel systems in Wisconsin, and ultimately become part of a building anywhere in the country.

It is more than a woodgrain finish and more than a single panel.

It is a pattern we created, a collection we developed, and an architectural platform that continues to create new possibilities.

The character of wood.

The versatility of metal.

The craftsmanship of Wisconsin.

Woodgrain Without Limitations.

That’s pretty cool.
