Description: Grassland Dairy Products is a 5th generation family-owned butter maker since 1904. Owned by the Wuethrich family since immigrating to Wisconsin in 1893 from Switzerland. Today, Grassland takes in 5 million pounds of fresh milk from more than 800 dairy farms in central Wisconsin. The milk is put into three large-batch butter churns. Each churn creates 42,000 pounds of butter…every hour! Everyday, 3 million pounds are created daily during the processors three shifts. Wisconsin consumers will recognize the Grassland Butter Chips, wrapped in gold foil, served in food service settings. So imagine…if one churn makes 42,000 pounds of butter, and there are 72 cut butter chips per pound…that one batch makes 3,024,000 individually wrapped chips!
